The steering wheel has a hub (12) and a steering wheel rim (16) coupled to the hub by a spoke (14). The steering wheel rim has a multi-part core with a damping element for damping the vibrations of the steering wheel rim. A contact surface between the damping element and the component of the core or between the damping element and another component of the core runs parallel to a steering wheel plane of the steering wheel. The damping element has an elastomer or structural adhesive. The components of the core and a spoke are made of an aluminum- or magnesium alloy.
