<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking assist device capable of reducing loads applied to knee joints without obstructing a walking movement. <P>SOLUTION: The walking assist device includes: an upper link and a lower link mounted on a thigh and a lower limb; a one-way clutch; a grounding sensor; and a controller. The one-way clutch is arranged at the connection part of the upper link and the lower link. The one-way clutch allows the forward swing of the lower link and inhibits the rearward swing of the lower link when engaged, and allows the forward and rearward swing of the lower link when released. The grounding sensor detects whether or not a leg is grounded. The controller maintains the one-way clutch in an engaged state in at least a part of a period during which the grounding sensor detects grounding. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
