<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormality in an eccentric rotor rotating in contact with a carried sheet or in an output means for outputting a pulse at a rate proportional to the rotation amount of the eccentric rotor. <P>SOLUTION: A length measuring machine 100 includes: a length measuring roll 110 rotating with a carried recording material S; a rotation amount detecting device 200 sharing a rotating shaft 110a with the length measuring roll 110 for detecting the rotation amount of the length measuring roll 110; and an upstream side detecting sensor 160 and a downstream side detecting sensor 170 which detect passing of the recording material S on the upstream side in the carrying direction of the recording material S from a contact part of the length measuring roll 110 and the recording material S and on the downstream side thereof, respectively. Abnormality occurring in the length measuring roll 110 and a slit disc 220 is detected based on an upstream side edge signal Su output from the upstream side detecting sensor 160, a downstream edge signal Sd output from the downstream side detecting sensor 170, and a phase signal Sp output through the slit disc 220 provided in the rotation amount detecting device 200. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
