PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene polymer which is excellent in balance of a mechanical strength and an extrusion load at processing and has a good taking-up property in a high temperature range. SOLUTION: In an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer which has a monomer unit based on ethylene and a monomer unit based on 3-20Cα-olefin, a melt flow rate of the ethylene-α-olefin copolymer is 0.01-100 g/10 min, density is 860-970 kg/m<SP>3</SP>, molecular weight distribution is 5.5-12, and flow activation energy is 50-100 kJ/mol. When a maximum take-up velocity at a temperature of 150°C of the copolymer is represented as MTV<SB>150</SB>and a maximum take-up velocity at a temperature of 190°C of the copolymer is represented as MTV<SB>190</SB>, the MTV<SB>150</SB>is 40 m/min or more, and a ratio of the MTV<SB>150</SB>to the MTV<SB>190</SB>is below 1.
