The crossbeam (10') has a crossbeam element (12') comprising a cladding (28), where the cladding has a vertical wall section (38) in a mounting position of the crossbeam. Another wall section (32) of the cladding is arranged adjacent to and integrated with the former wall section. The latter wall section is horizontally stretched as a result of a forming process performed in the mounting position for forming a through opening (42) in the cladding. The latter wall section is folded relative to the former wall section by performing the forming process along a bending axis (34). The forming process comprises a cold forming process or hot forming process. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a bending crossbeam.
