<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous ink for inkjet recording excellent in dischargeability and printing density and having a low viscosity, a method for producing the same, and an aqueous colorant dispersion used for the same which is excellent in storage stability. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous ink for inkjet recording includes polymer particles (A) containing a colorant obtained by dispersing the colorant with a water-soluble polymer (x) and a water-insoluble polymer (y), a water-soluble organic solvent (B), and water. The weight ratio [(y)/(x)] of the water-insoluble polymer (y) to the water-soluble polymer (x) is 2.0-5.0. The content of the water-soluble organic solvent (B) is 10 to 70 wt.%.
