<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To complete adjustment of a focus state and a spherical aberration in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: A recording area for adjustment (pre-writing area) used for adjusting a focus state or a spherical aberration is provided in each recording layer of an optical recording medium. Data for adjustment are recorded in the recording area for adjustment. Recorded discrimination information is recorded in a discrimination information recording area according to recording of the data for adjustment. A recording device/a playback device immediately recognize whether the data for adjustment are recorded in the recording area for adjustment in each recording layer by confirming the recorded discrimination information in the discrimination information recording area of the optical recording medium upon recording operation or playback operation. If the data for adjustment are recorded in the recording area for adjustment, the focus state and the spherical aberration can be rapidly adjusted while playback data in the recording area for adjustment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
