<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress tailing in a moving picture area and to display an image of high quality. <P>SOLUTION: A driving circuit of a plasma display device includes: an upper limit and lower limit setting circuit 80r setting an upper limit MXr and a lower limit MNr of display gradation used for displaying an image with respect to at least an image signal corresponding to the color of a phosphor layer having the longest afterglow time; a prediction signal-generating circuit generating a vision prediction signal that predicts a vision of an image including the tailing; and an image signal-creating circuit creating an image signal for displaying an image in the vision predicted by the vision prediction signal. The upper limit and lower limit setting circuit 80r restricts the lower limit of the display gradation when a moving average of the image signal is larger than the average of the maximum gradation that can be displayed and the minimum gradation that can be displayed, and restricts the upper limit of the display gradation when the moving average of the image signal is smaller than the average of the maximum gradation that can be displayed and the minimum gradation that can be displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
