<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable image forming apparatus suppressing the occurrence of vertical stripes by carrying out cleaning of a discharge electrode in a charger according to the locally consumed amount of toner. <P>SOLUTION: A corona charger 10 with a discharging electrode 10a is arranged facing an image carrier 2, respective toner consumption amounts in a plurality of regions which are divided along the longitudinal direction of a developer carrier 3a are calculated, and when the value becomes a prescribed value or more, a cleaning operation is carried out for the discharging electrode 10a in the corona charger 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
