PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device in which a display-side case is slid along a shorter-side direction of an operation-side case, and is opened obliquely to the operation-side case. SOLUTION: The portable electronic device is equipped with: an operation-side case; a display-side case which is slidably covered on the operation-side case; a rotary supporting member of which the both ends are pivoted by the operation-side case and the display-side case; and an elastic member including a curved elastic portion and attachment end portions extending from both ends of the elastic portion. The attachment end portions of the elastic member are fixed to the rotary supporting member, and the elastic portion of the elastic member is slidably fixed to the display-side case and positioned at a first positioning point or a second positioning point by the display-side case. When the display-side case is driven forward for a predetermined distance relative to the operation-side case, the rotary supporting member is rotated relative to the operation-side case by a repulsive force of the elastic member, and the display-side case is raised.
