PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device where a display-side case slides along a short side direction of an operation-side case, and is tiltingly opened with respect to the operation-side case. SOLUTION: This portable electronic device includes: an operation-side case; a display-side case installed by being superposed on the operation-side case; a slide mechanism including a fixed plate fixed to the operation-side case and a slide plate to be slidably combined with the fixed plate; a connection rod having both ends respectively rotatably connected to the slide plate and the display-side case; and a rotary support component having both ends respectively rotatably connected to the operation-side case and the connection rod. When the display-side case is pushed and slid with respect to the operation-side case, the slide plate slides with respect to the fixed plate, the connection rod and the rotary support component are rotated with respect to the operation-side case by being operatively connected therewith, and accordingly one end of the display-side case connected with the connection rod is supported to the rotary support component and gradually rises.
