PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of an apparatus attributable to disturbance of a holding force of holding a moving body and a guide rail in a non-contact manner due to an abnormal condition of a current sensor. SOLUTION: An elevator guide device 3 includes a distance measurement unit S1 for measuring the distance to a guide rail, an adjusting means 21 for adjusting the control current to be applied to an electromagnet (a coil 13b) so as to move a moving body in a non-contact manner along the guide rail according to the distance, a current storage unit 23 for storing the initial value of the control current, a current measurement unit S2 for measuring a current value of the electromagnet, a current detection unit 22 which acquires a current value of the electromagnet measured by the current measurement unit S2 based on the step position information of the guide rail, and detects the current value of the electromagnet at the step position of the guide rail, and an abnormality determining means 24 for determining the presence/absence of any abnormal condition of the current measuring unit S2 by comparing the initial value stored by the current storage unit 23 with the current value detected by the current detection unit 22.
