<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately control the injection amount from a high pressure pump or the like in a common rail type fuel injection device. <P>SOLUTION: When the pressure of a common rail 20 is at a learning target pressure Pe, the energization amount to a flow rate regulating valve 18 and the fuel supply amount actually ejected from the flow regulating valve 18 are sensed for sensing and learning the relationship between the energization amount and the supply amount at the learning target pressure Pe.
