PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial resistance type inertial mass damper which can eliminate twisting between two members. SOLUTION: The inertial mass damper 1 includes an outer cylinder 4 which is fixed to a first member T1; a ball screw 2 having a thread 2c formed on the outer periphery and a base end portion 2a fixed to a second member T2, the ball screw being coaxially arranged within the outer cylinder 4; a double nut 3 which is rotationally screwed to the thread 2c of the ball screw 2, and supported rotatably relative to the outer cylinder 4; and a flywheel 5 which rotates about a central axis O of the ball screw 2 together with the double nut 3. A presser portion 6 is provided at an engagement portion between the ball screw 2 and the outer cylinder 4, the presser portion allowing the displacement of the ball screw 2 in the screw axial direction X relative to the outer cylinder 4 but constraining the rotation of the ball screw 2 about the central axis O.
