PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical display panel which attains both of a high aperture ratio and low resistance and has high picture quality and high reliability. SOLUTION: The electrochemical display panel which attains both of a high aperture ratio and low resistance and has high picture quality and high reliability is obtained by forming a thin recessed portion on a transparent substrate, filling the recessed portion with a metal to form a thin and deep metal electrode having an almost equal surface level to the transparent substrate, using the metal electrode as a wiring line of a power supply to supply a drive voltage of pixels, and forming a wide pixel electrode inside the metal electrode.
