<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-target tracking apparatus that establishes a target track, early and accurately. <P>SOLUTION: The multi-target tracking apparatus includes: a number-of-target estimation part 3 for estimating the number of targets by making a hypothesis on the number of targets from a record of the number of observation values at each sampling time point and calculating confidence of the hypothesis; a number-of-target settlement determiner 4 for determining the number of targets on the basis of the confidence; and a track establishment re-determiner 5 for extracting a candidate of a tentative track of a multi-target correlation determination tracking processing unit 7 in accordance with the determined number of targets, for calculating likelihood of the latest smoothed value of the candidate relative to the observation value for several sampling time points in the past, and for selecting the tentative track having the largest likelihood to establish the track. When the presence of a separation target is confirmed by performing the number-of-target estimation in parallel with the multi-target correlation determination tracking processing, the target track is early and accurately established by extracting and establishing the track having the highest certainty from a tentative track group generated by the multi-target correlation determination tracking processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
