PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable compound that has both at least two polymerizable functional groups and ultraviolet ray absorbing part, gives a product of high molecular weight, can be synthesized by a simple process, and is less likely to be colored by metal components; and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The multifunctional polymerizable compound can be obtained by reaction of a compound represented by formula (1) and a compound having an epoxy group and (meth)acrylic group, wherein R<SB>11</SB>to R<SB>15</SB>each independently represent hydrogen, hydroxyl, methyl, or methoxy, and at least one of R<SB>11</SB>to R<SB>15</SB>is a hydroxyl.
