PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower nozzle, even if the temperature of a nozzle hole is made high and a refractory facing to the nozzle hole is expanded, which does not exert adverse influence on a nozzle for casting joined to the lower part thereof. SOLUTION: Regarding the lower nozzle 2 in which a nozzle 3 for casting is pressed against the lower part so as to be joined, at least a part is formed of a refractory layer 2b on the nozzle hole side and a refractory layer 2a on the outer circumferential side thereof, and the lower part of the refractory layer 2b on the nozzle hole side is provided with a notch part 2f forming a gap G in a space with the nozzle 3 for casting.
