<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a situation in which a power amount stored in an energy storage device becomes insufficient while improving the efficiency of energy of an engine required for driving a generator. <P>SOLUTION: The power generation controller includes a power generation voltage setter 70 for setting a power generation voltage V<SB>D</SB>at a first value V<SB>D1</SB>when an energy storage amount BT of an energy storage device 17 is less than an energy storage amount threshold BT<SB>Dth</SB>, and setting the power generation voltage V<SB>D</SB>at a second value V<SB>D2</SB>smaller than the first value V<SB>D1</SB>when the energy storage amount BT is not less than the energy storage amount threshold BT<SB>Dth</SB>, a start state detector 66 for detecting the start state of the engine 11, and a traveling state detector 67 for detecting the traveling state of the vehicle 10.
