<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing element such as a polarizing lens, in which peeling at the interface between a polarizing film or polarizing sheet and a transparent synthetic resin layer is avoided during machining. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizing element is a cast polarizing element 11 having a transparent synthetic resin layer (lens layer) 15, 15 formed by polymerization curing of a polymerizable liquid material on one side or both sides of a polarizing film (or polarizing sheet) 13.
