<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for exciting a synchronous machine that can simplify an initial exciting circuit without being equipped with a resistor with a tap for field current adjustment at start and besides can eliminate the conventional resistance loss of the resistor with a tap. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric double layer capacitor 13 which is used as an initial exciting power supply for a self-excited synchronous machine 1, the capacity is decided so that a field voltage may be a specified value required for initial excitation after passage of a specified time since it starts initial excitation with a specified number of turns and the product of the field current and the rotational speed may be a specified value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
