<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for civil engineering work, which efficiently performs photovoltaic power generation through the effective use of sunlight. <P>SOLUTION: The block for civil engineering work includes: a block body 2 having a bottom plate part 2a, a wall retaining part 2b and a top plate part 2c and formed with a recessed part 2d, on the front surface side, surrounded with the bottom plate part 2a, wall retaining part 2b and top plate part 2c; a solar battery panel 3; and a support member 4 supporting the solar battery panel 3.
