PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control apparatus and a control method which correctly extract a handwriting part even when an electronic document is updated after printing, moreover, display the handwriting part for the newest electronic document. SOLUTION: A control apparatus specifies a version of the electronic document at a printing time of the printed matter from a scanning image which scans the printed matter in which the electronic document is printed. It extracts an image of the handwriting part from the electronic document of the scanning image and the specified version. It controls a display unit so as to display the image of the extracted hand writing part for the electronic document of the newest version memorized in a database. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
