PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that effectively prevents rubbing noise and slipping of toner through between a cleaning blade and an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus mounts a cleaning blade and an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photosensitive layer and a surface layer on a conducive support, and is characterized in that: the surface layer is a cured layer containing a filler; the electrophotographic photoreceptor has 'linear grooves' formed in the main scanning direction, which is a circumference direction of the photoreceptor, the linear grooves having projections inside formed by the filler; the ten-point average roughness Rz of the photoreceptor surface measured in a sub-scanning direction, which is the generatrix direction of the photoreceptor, is 0.17μm or more and 2.00μm or less; the average interval Sm of the grooves is 20μm or more and 500μm or less; the ten-point average roughness Rz measured in the main scanning direction of the electrophotographic photoreceptor is 0.13μm or more and 0.50μm or less; the average interval Sm of projections and recesses in the main scanning direction is 9μm or more and 40μm or less; and the cleaning blade has a hard coating layer at a contact part with the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
