<p>Provided are a projector-type display device with an electric storage, a light source controller for use in the projector-type display device, and a light source controlling method, such that minimization of the volume and weight of the electric storage and reduction in manufacturing costs are achieved by elongating the length of period in which the electric storage can supply power. A light source controller (200) comprises light source drivers (211R, 211G, 211B) for supplying driving power to light sources (401R, 401G, 401B), light source drivers (212R, 212G, 212B) for supplying driving power to light sources (402R, 402G, 402B), an AC-DC voltage converter (203) for supplying power to light source drivers (211R, 211G, 211B) or light source drivers (212R, 212G, 212B) upon receipt of external power supply, and a controller (230) for increasing or decreasing second driving power output from the light source driver receiving power from an electric storage (205), in accordance with the brightness of an image indicated by an image signal.</p> |
