PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hypoglycemic agent and a hypoglycemic food and drink composition derived from foods and having high safety and high hypoglycemic action.

SOLUTION: There are provided a dipeptidyl peptidase 4 (DPP4) inhibitor containing a peptide having a consecutive amino acid sequence comprising three or more residues from N-terminal of Val-Ala-Gly-Thr-Trp-Tyr (sequence number 1), the hypoglycemic agent and a method for producing a food by using the peptide.
