<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum heat insulating material which is minimized in environmental load by reducing energy consumption in manufacturing of the vacuum heat insulating material, and is excellent in heat insulating performance and productivity, and a refrigerator using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The vacuum heat insulating material (50) includes a core material (51) including an organic fiber, and a facing material (53) housing the core material (51), in which the inside of the facing material (53) is decompressed and sealed.
