<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely fix a boot and to secure sealing performance by suppressing the separation of a joined portion using laser joining which can improve reliability, while reducing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A constant velocity universal joint includes an outer joint metal member 3 having an opening at its one end and an inner joint member that transmits torque allowing angle displacement via balls with the outer joint member 3. The large diameter end 15 of a bellows-like plastic boot 12, which blocks an opening 13 of the outer joint member 3, is fitted externally onto the outer circumferential surface 14 of the opening 13 of the outer joint member 3 and fixed by the laser joining. An end adjacent part 19 extending from the large diameter end 15 of the boot 12 to a bellows part 18 is shaped to follow the end surface 20 of the opening 13 of the outer joint member 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
