PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder intake air amount calculating device capable of calculating a predicted value for a cylinder intake air amount of an internal combustion engine with high accuracy. SOLUTION: An estimated through-throttle-valve air flow amount HGAIRTH as the amount of fresh air flowing through a throttle valve and a predicted through-throttle-valve air flow amount HGAIRTHP as a predicted value for the estimated through-throttle-valve air flow amount HGAIRTH are calculated. The estimated through-throttle-valve air flow amount HGAIRTH and a previous value for the cylinder intake air amount are applied to an intake pipe model formula for calculating the cylinder intake air amount. The predicted through-throttle-valve air flow amount and the cylinder intake air amount GAIRCYLN are applied to the intake pipe model formula for calculating a predicted cylinder intake air amount.
