PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of easily transmitting/receiving data by keeping consistency of input/output relationship of the data without using a packet assembly table and a packet disassembly table. SOLUTION: In this data collection/distribution system including a plurality of input/output devices for transmitting/receiving data, the input/output device includes: an input channel section having one or more input channels for receiving data from an apparatus; an input buffer section retaining the data received by the input channels; an output buffer section for retaining data received from another input/output device; an output channel section having one or more output channels for outputting the received data to the outside; a storage section for storing an input/output relationship database where an input/output device of a transmission destination of the data received by the input channel and an output channel of the input/output device of the transmission destination are previously defined; and a control section for performing transmission/reception by sharing the output buffer section of the input/output device of the transmission destination, and writing the data received by the input channel in the shared output buffer section based on the input/output relationship database.
