Described is a valve for selecting the higher level of discharge in a tank with skirt, which uses the hot water stored in the upper layers of the volume of water contained in tanks, said volume being warmed by the solar radiation during the day. The valve is completely made of PVC material and tubes, including a joining nut for fastening the body of the valve to the lateral lower wall of the tank, the nut being subsequently connected to a nipple which remaining end portion is connected to an elbow for switching the direction of the piping from horizontal to vertical position; also includes a vertical elongated tube with three apertures vertically aligned over the lateral wall of said tube, two stopper for preventing the plunger from moving beyond said stoppers; the plunger has a central sectioned tube with rectangular windows and lateral walls for joining two upper and lower rings; two cylindrical-shaped sealed containers being fastened over the upper ring, which are parallel the sect ioned tube, said arrangement of sectioned tube and closed containers forming the plunger of the inventive valve, which along with a straight tube hose located in the water inlet of the network, lead the cold water to the bottom of the tank.
