<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can manufacture a sintered compact with a high fayalite purity. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a fayalite sintered compact comprises a process of molding a fayalite powder which passes a sifter of 150 mesh, to form a molded article and a process of sintering the resultant molded article to form a sintered compact, wherein the molding is carried out by a pressure of 98-294 MPa, and the sintering is carried out at 1,000-1,150°C in a vacuum ambiance of at most 0.13 Pa. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
