Infrared (IR) radiation reflecting pigment comprises an IR reflecting core with essentially permeable and essentially encasing coating for IR-radiation and the IR-radiation reflecting pigment is essentially white. Independent claims are included for: (1) a procedure for the preparation of IR-radiation reflecting pigment comprising contacting the IR-reflecting core with essential permeable coating for IR-radiation with white pigment and/or visible light of scattering particle type excess coating; (2) a coating composition comprising the IR-radiation reflecting pigment; and (3) an article coated with an IR-radiation reflecting pigment or a coating composition.
