The filter pad 12 of a liquid filter has a microporous rigid support 11 (e.g. sintered stainless steel) over the whole of its filtering area. The liquid to be filtered is admitted under pressure through the inlet 14 and passes through the pad 12 and support 11 to the outlet 8, by way of channels 7 in the plate 3. Any unfiltered liquid escaping through the edge of the pad 12 is collected in the channel 9 and passed to the outlet 10. The apparatus may have more than one pad 12 and support 11. |
