PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and control method thereof are provided to control a mobile terminal and to consume the power of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A display unit(120) is included for information representation. A sensor unit(110) senses the gesture of a user. A power unit(130) supplies power to a mobile terminal. A control unit(140) executes a command corresponding to user input in a lower power state. The control unit drives the sensor unit through the power unit. The control unit executes a command corresponding to the user gestures.
