<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve evaporation characteristics by paying attention to difference of atomization and evaporation characteristics due to difference of strength of air flow between two intake ports in an internal combustion engine provided with the two intake ports per one cylinder and provided with a swirl control valve. <P>SOLUTION: More fuel is injected to the intake port in which air flow gets relatively strong than the intake port in which air flow gets relatively light by closing the swirl control valve, and fuel is injected in a wider range in the intake port in which air flow gets relatively strong. Consequently, atomization and evaporation of fuel are accelerated under strong air flow, film thickness of fuel adhering on the intake port and an umbrella part of an intake valve is prevented from getting thicker, and high evaporation performance is displayed to reduce HC quantity in exhaust gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
