<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ceramic honeycomb filter which efficiently captures particulates and is not cracked by a thermal stress even when the filter is exposed to a high temperature. SOLUTION: This ceramic honeycomb filter is so formed that the mesh sealing thickness of the mesh sealing areas formed at the ends of the prescribed through-holes of a ceramic honeycomb structure increases gradually at an angle of 0.5 to 30 deg. from the central part to the outer peripheral part of the ceramic honeycomb structure and that the mesh sealing thickness in the central part is 1 to 12 times the pitch of partitions.</p> |
