PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a load of light distribution control from rising by suppressing the chattering of the light distribution control. SOLUTION: When the light distribution control for turning off the divided area of a headlight corresponding to an oncoming vehicle is performed, it is determined whether the moving direction of the oncoming vehicle is lateral or not (114). When it is lateral, the light distribution control is immediately performed (the divided area corresponding to the oncoming vehicle is turned off, or when the oncoming vehicle is not present, the light distribution control is reset) (110, 112). When it is vertical, the light distribution control is not immediately reset, but the detection of the oncoming vehicle is re-performed (116) after a predetermined time is elapsed (114). When the oncoming vehicle is present, the light distribution control is not reset but the present light distribution control is maintained.
