A limited slip differential of the bevel gear type comprises multi-plate friction clutches 16 between side wheels 11, 12 and an input casing 2, light engagement of the clutches being provided by dished spring washers 14 which also press the side gears against planet gears 9, 10 which are thereby urged outwardly into frictional engagement with the casing 2. |
