PURPOSE: A booting method and apparatus in a computer device having a built-in communication module are provided to confirm whether an HSPA(High Speed Packet Access) module or a USIM is mounted to a mini notebook or a net book in booting the mini notebook or the net book and to perform booting. CONSTITUTION: A computer device determines whether a USIM(Universal Subscriber Identity Module) is mounted to the inside of a communication module(308). In case the USIM is not mounted to the inside of the communication module, the computer device displays a booting compulsion close message(310). After a fixed time, the computer device closes the booting and blocks a power source(314).
