The invention provides a method of fabricating a lightweight leg assembly for an aircraft seat assembly 100. The seat assembly has a lightweight composite support structure 102 including a leg frame comprising a leg attachment bracket and a main frame member carried by the bracket and comprising a thermoplastic material. A track fitting may be carried by the leg frame. Composite support legs (300 see fig 16) typically comprise spreader bars (208 see fig 16) for coupling to a seat pan. The method comprises providing thermoplastic plies, preheating and performing the plies and pressing the plies to form a part of the leg assembly. |
