<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restart a permanent magnet motor which is in a free-run at a high speed without causing abnormalities in over-voltage and over-current, even if an inexpensive CPU which is slow in arithmetic speed is used. <P>SOLUTION: The method for restarting a permanent magnet motor 2 with an inverter controller comprises a voltage command operation means 4, a PWM operation means 5, a current detection means 104 and a voltage detection means 3. The voltage command operation means 4 calculates a voltage command value with the DC intermediate voltage detection value detected by the voltage detection means 3, based on a preset voltage command and a frequency command and with the output current value detected by the current detection means 04.
