An aspect of the present invention relates to an optical information recording medium comprising a recording layer, wherein the recording layer comprises a cationic dye and a polynuclear azo metal complex dye comprising an azo dye and a metal ion, and a method of recording information comprising recording information on the recording layer comprised in the optical recording medium, and conducting the recording by irradiation of a laser beam having a wavelength of equal to or shorter than 440 nm onto the optical information recording medium. Another aspect of the present invention relates to a photosensitizer.
