FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: described is a method of fitting a pipe into a receiving device in which: a) the selected pipe is pressed to obtain a pressed pipe, where the selected pipe contains a polymer material and said polymer material contains a first polymer with glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 100C; or (a*) a pressed pipe is selected, which contains a polymer material, where the said polymer material contains a first polymer with glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 100C. Either step (a) or step (a*) is used together with the following steps: (b) the pressed pipe is put into a give position inside the receiving device; and (c) the pressed pipe is exposed to conditions where it expands. Described also is an article containing said pressed pipe, which fit into its intended position in the receiving device in accordance with the described method, a pressed pipe obtained by pressing the selected pipe which contains a polymer material which contains a first polymer with glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 100C, for use in fitting said pipe into a receiving device in accordance with the described method, and an article which contains the described pressed pipe on a support. ^ EFFECT: method enables to produce a pressed pipe from a selected component at relatively low temperature; after pressing, the pressed pipe can remain in that state during a long period of time, for example almost indefinitely, without the need of cooling to temperature lower than room temperature or without the need to apply a force in order to prevent it from expanding, thus delaying fitting of the pressed component into the given position inside the receiving device. ^ 14 cl, 1 dwg |
