862,487. Valves. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. July 16, 1959 [July 16, 1958], No. 24491/59. Class 135. [Also in Group XXXII] A non-return valve for use in a pneumatic damping system and having a throttling passage 16, Fig. 3, is adapted to permit the escape of air through additional throttling passages when the pressure reaches a predetermined value. The valve is normally closed by a spring 20 which presses a flexible disc 18 into contact with an annular seating 23 and may be flexed open on reduction of pressure above the disc. Radial passages 25 cut in the seating 23 are opened when the disc 18 is flexed at high pressures above the disc. In another example the disc 16, Fig. 5, is coupled by a stirrup 31 and lever 28 to a dashpot (not shown) to damp the movements. The stirrup 31 carries a projection 34 which closes the throttle passage 16 during the initial part of the return stroke of the spring. As the pressure behind the valve 18 builds up the passage 16 is again opened as a result of the deformation of the valve 18.
|
