PURPOSE: Method and system for preventing malfunction of a pump are provided to prevent a pump from malfunctioning due to water leakage of pipe. CONSTITUTION: A unit(110) for establishing monitoring reference establishes criteria on a time to monitor the malfunction of a pump and a degree of operation of the pump for the time. A unit(120) for monitoring operation of the pump monitors whether the pump operates violating the criteria on the operation degree of the pump for the established time. A operation control unit(130) makes an operation for preventing the malfunction of a pump perform, if it is determined by the pump operation monitoring unit that the operation of the pump violated the established criteria.
