PURPOSE: A mail inspection system and a method are provided to confirm the mail by feeding back the mail confirmation and the matching result of the read zip code with the printed zip code to the post office. CONSTITUTION: A mail inspection system comprises a plurality of belts(103), a plurality of cameras(104), a verification control device(106), and a stacker(110). A plurality of belts transport a plurality of mail and are moved at different speed. A plurality of cameras takes a photo of the mail carried through belts, takes a photo of the mail with the other size respectively. The shooting brightness of camera is differently set up. The verification control device verifies the address reading error by verifying the zip code through mail image. A plurality of pockets of stacker classifies the mail according to each cause of reading success and fail.
