Preferably the core has a honeycomb structure and the face sheets are carbon fibre epoxy resin prepregs. Preferably the prepregs contain thermoplastic particles of polyether sulphone or polyether imide. The open structured sheet is preferably an integral sheet held together by overlapping or interconnecting woven or knitted fibres, especially of nylon or polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
