PURPOSE: A method for protecting the super-cooling is provided to prevent the super-cooling of an infrared detector by turning on/off a cooling unit through switching the power supply of the cooling unit. CONSTITUTION: In a method for protecting the super-cooling, an infrared detector(100) changes the infrared ray of an object into an electrical signal. A cooling unit(200) receives driving power from a power supply unit and cools down the infrared detector. The power supply unit supplies driving power to the cooling unit. A super-cooling protection unit(400) receives the temperature of the infrared detector and the cooling state of the cooling unit. The super-cooling protection unit outputs power control signal intercepting the power of the power supply unit.
