A method for measuring intra-abdominal pressure comprises insertion of Foley catheter into the urinary bladder, its fixation by filling the balloon, the emptying of then bladder, the administration of 100 mL of physiologic saline, the clamping of the distal end of the catheter. The transparent graduated tube is connected to Foley catheter through the adapter. The tube is located in perpendicular to the upper edge of the pubic symphisis. For measuring intra-abdominal pressure, the clamp is removed from Foley catheter, and the filling of the graduated tube with physiologic saline is registered. |
